Alumni of the University of West London or one of its predecessor institutions are eligible for nomination 

The following are all predecessor institutions of UWL: Berkshire College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ealing College of Higher Education, Ealing Technical College, Acton Hotel and Catering School, Ealing Technical Institute and School of Art, Ealing Technical Institute and School of Art and Crafts, London College of Music, North West Thames Regional Health Authority's AIDS Unit, Northwick Park School of Nursing, Polytechnic of West London, Queen Charlotte’s College of Health Studies, Reading College and School of Art & Design, Riverside College of Nursing, Thames Valley College of Higher Education, Polytechnic of West London, Thames Valley University.

• Members of the Alumni Board
• Members of the awards selection panel
• Politicians who hold an elective office
• Current employees of the University
• Current members of the Board of Governors
• Honorary graduates of the University

Anyone except for members of the Awards Selection Panel can nominate. The person you nominate should ideally be personally known to you and you must complete the online nomination form in full. You cannot nominate yourself. 

Nominations will be open until 11.59am GMT on Monday 31st January 2022. 

There are three categories that you can nominate an alumnus/a for:

Recent Graduate Award

The Recent Graduate Award recognises evidence of significant career achievement, or positive impact on a field of endeavour or community cause within five years of graduation from University of West London. This award recognises those who have the potential to reach the highest levels of success in the future.

In selecting the Recent Graduate Award, the selection panel will consider the following:

• Early career impact on sector/industry.
• Demonstrable achievement in field of expertise.
• International experience and impact.
• Role model behaviours/ highest standards of industry practice.

Alumni Entrepreneur Award

The Alumni Entrepreneur Award recognises alumni who have achieved outstanding entrepreneurial success while upholding the highest standards of business practice.

In selecting the Alumni Entrepreneur Award, the selection panel will consider the following:

• Solvency and profitability of company.
• Sustained high level of business performance over a period of 3-5 years with firm growth and value creation.
• Ethical conduct/standards of business practice.
• Profitability of the business model, or in the case of social enterprises, a self-sustaining business practice.
• Impact on the market and the consumer.
• Innovation.
• Contribution to the economy and society, including job creation and exports.
• International reach/impact.

Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award

The Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award is UWL’s highest honour and recognises those individuals who have achieved significant success within their industry/sector while upholding the highest standards of practice.

In selecting the Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award, the selection panel will consider the following:

• Sustained professional achievement at the highest levels, preferably extending in to the year of selection.
• Significant impact on their sector/industry, beyond their own role and/or organisation.
• International influence/experience working across different geographic regions.
• Regarded as a role model in their field.
• Innovation and creativity.
• Other awards and recognitions.
• Contribution to charitable or community organisations/not-for-profit work.

The Alumni Award winners will be announced at the Alumni Awards Event, on Wednesday 30th March 2022. Winners will be invited to attend the event and will receive a trophy. The award winners will be celebrated through stories on UWL and Alumni web pages, social media, email and the Alumni magazine.
