Scholarships & Bursaries

Scholarships & Bursaries StatisticThe generosity of alumni, friends and donors has played a vital role in helping us respond to our students' changing and immediate needs. Establishing a scholarship is a truly transformative way to have an impact on someone’s life. Your gift would help support talented students like Marta and Dominykas (below) who are just two of the many students who have been able to reduce financial pressue and realise their potential thanks to a scholarship.

Marta Milli, BA (Hons) Hospitality Management Student

"The scholarship has completely transformed my experience here at UWL."

Photo of Marta Milli, a UWL Student"Adapting to living in a new country and starting my course was definitely challenging, alongside the financial impact of living in London. During the beginning of my course, I found it difficult to focus and enjoy my studies due to having to work full time. There was always a constant worry about being able to pay my rent and bills."

"However, the scholarship has completely transformed my experience here at UWL - it’s allowed me to enjoy my course, by removing the financial worries I had and it’s provided me with a different level of motivation to work towards my assignments."

Dominykas Salvaitis, BSc Culinary Arts Management Student

"The scholarship has been crucial to my success at UWL - it removed the financial barriers that I faced, and I've been able to focus on my final year dissertation."

Dominykas Salvaitis"I really enjoyed my first two years in London; however, I was working up to 50-hour weeks just to support myself which became difficult to manage alongside my studies. This unfortunately meant I wasn’t able to participate in competitions and would often miss important career fairs."

"With a reduced workload, I’ve been able to enter competitions and recently won the Dolmio Professional Food Service Catering Challenge. ‘Thanks to the scholarship, I’ve also been able to broaden my view and understanding of the whole food supply chain. This has allowed me to work towards sustainable food production being my main academic and professional focus."
